The Selangor Declaration – Conservation of Fireflies

An important document arising from the 3rd International Firefly Symposium is The Selangor Declaration urging all the government to protect, rehabilitate, educate,and promote, with the involvement of local communities and public,  the firefly habitats which is also a refuge for other wildlife and plants; and support through funds and human resources development for basic research, diversity documentation, taxonomy, low impact development, bio-application, network and joint work, and CEPA.

After 4 years, in 2014, during the 4th International Firefly Symposium, the Selangor Declaration was relooked again. It was discussed, amended, agreed by the participants and updated >  The Selangor Declaration rev 25nov2014 .
